Drivers in the Lilburn area have a new place to go when they need to renew the tag on their vehicles.

The Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner’s Office announced a new tag renewal kiosk has been installed at the Kroger located at 300 Five Forks Trickum Road in Lilburn. It is the ninth tag renewal kiosk in Gwinnett County.

Vehicle owners can use the kiosk to renew their license plate without having to wait in a line at a tag office. It will be available during the store’s operating hours, which are 6 a.m. until 11 p.m.

“Kiosks reduce the wait in line, allow customers to renew their vehicle registration and walk away with their current tag decal,” Tax Commissioner’s Office officials said. “To renew at a kiosk, drivers must have an up-to-date Georgia driver’s license and a correct address on their renewal notice. They must have liability insurance and proof of a passed emissions inspection must be on file with the state.”

The kiosks accept debit and credit cards, and users will have to pay a small convenience fee to use them. The Tax Commissioner’s Office does have 24hour kiosks at its Lawrenceville and North Gwinnett offices, in addition to the seven kiosks that are located at retail businesses.
