Florida MV Express kiosks offer instant registration renewal at Hillsborough County tax collector’s offices

Florida MV Express KioskTAMPA, FL—Intellectual Technology, Inc. (ITI) and the State of Florida are extending DMV service capabilities with the roll-out of the new Florida MV Express kiosk program. In an effort to offer best-in-class customer service, Florida and ITI are bringing DMV services to the people by allow citizens to “Skip the Line” to renew their vehicle registrations.

In the past, the only avenues of vehicle renewal were taking a trip to the tax collector and waiting in line to renew your registration or renewing online and waiting for your registration to be delivered through the mail. These new Florida MV Express kiosks allow for immediate renewal and printing of a registration card and license plate sticker. Customers just need the PIN from their registration renewal notice or license plate number and date of birth, along with a form of payment.

Any Florida resident can follow the easy-to-use touchscreen prompts to renew vehicle registrations in as little as two minutes. Florida MV Express kiosks accept payment by cash, check, credit, or debit. Instructions and voice prompts in English or Spanish make the SSTs as easy to use as an ATM. Florida MV Express kiosks are available at these Hillsborough County tax offices, with more locations planned for the coming months:

When asked about the new program, Hillsborough County Collector Doug Belden said, “This kiosk project took almost two years of hard work to develop and deploy and is another example of the benefit of public and private partnerships.  This type of collaboration brings modern, innovative technology to our offices and helps us provide excellent service and convenience to the citizens in Hillsborough County. It is my hope that other tax collectors in the state will also benefit from and embrace this new technology. Providing a self-service kiosk is just another innovative example of how we strive to provide excellent customer service to the citizens of Hillsborough County.”

This program marks the eleventh such program for ITI, as the operator of DMV kiosks in California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Nevada, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, and West Virginia. Combined, these kiosk programs processed more than 4.1 million transactions in 2018, helping consumers complete transactions when and where they need, eliminating longer than necessary trips to motor vehicle agencies, and extending those agency’s service capabilities.
